Flat-fee cleanup for your QuickBooks file. No hourly billing, no surprise scope creep.
Knotledger specializes in QuickBooks catch-up work on a single flat monthly fee — the fee is set up front against your transaction volume and months of backlog, and stays the same regardless of how the file turns out on the inside.
Send the intake today; you get a written scope back within 48 hours. Most engagements close in two to six weeks.
What we specifically fix
What we fix inside a QuickBooks file.
Most Knotledger engagements are made up of the four categories below. They are the shape of a typical QuickBooks catch-up — when the file sits in any of these states, the same repair logic applies.
Uncategorized transactions
Bank-feed and credit-card rows parked in “Ask My Accountant”, “Uncategorized Expense”, or “Uncategorized Asset” — payees left blank, fees never split. Knotledger walks the feed, writes the vendor name, picks the right QuickBooks chart-of-accounts line, and splits the line where a transaction has multiple parts.
Prior-period errors
Categories on a closed or period-locked month that were posted wrong the first time around — wrong posting dates, transactions charged to the wrong P&L account, journal entries that need a prior-period JE adjustment. Knotledger opens the locked period, posts the correction, and leaves a written note explaining every adjustment.
Reconciliation gaps
Bank and credit-card accounts that have never been reconciled to the matching month-end statement, register-vs-statement mismatches, missing opening balances, and prior transactions still sitting in “Uncleared” months later. Knotledger closes the gap, ties the register to the statement, and brings the reconciliation date current.
Duplicate entries
Re-imports from a Stripe, PayPal, or Square bank connection that posted the same payout twice; duplicate vendor bills posted under the same invoice number; an invoice entered once as a sales receipt and again as an invoice. Knotledger detects the dupes, nets them to zero, and leaves the audit-trail line so the CPA sees what happened.

What Knotledger found
An uncategorized Stripe payout that was never split, a re-imported bank-feed row duplicating the same payout, and a June bank reconciliation that was never closed. Three rows from the same register that the CPA could not sign off on.

What Knotledger delivered
The Stripe payout split into sales and fees, the duplicate payout flagged and netted to zero, and a prior-period journal entry posted to close the June bank reconciliation. The trial balance ties to the cent.
